Hi Lola & Tots family,
It’s been a while since we’ve written to our full community, and we wanted to say something simple first: we miss you.
Since closing our Lola & Tots space, most of our communication has been with our Compass and PS 56 families, but we often find ourselves thinking about the many little faces who used to pop into the space for play, classes, and community.
While we may not have the storefront anymore, Lola has been busy behind the scenes. Our afterschool and school residency programs have grown tremendously, and we’re now working with multiple schools bringing creative enrichment programs to kids across Brooklyn. It’s been amazing to see this next chapter grow! We often think about how many of those students started with us when they were tiny tots running around our play space.
Our hope is that as your kiddos get older, we’ll cross paths again in their schools one day.
A few quick Lola team life updates:
• Sofia, our “mini assistant” who was just 2 years old when we started this journey, is now in Charter School of the Arts for middle school (how did that happen so fast?!).
• Natalie moved from our beloved Brooklyn to Jersey City, but somehow still ends up back in BK almost every day.
• Jess has been spending some time in the Dominican Republic working on Lola from the business side with Zola in tow and is now expecting twins.
So much has changed over the years, but one thing hasn’t: we still hold every Lola family who supported us so close in our hearts. You helped build something incredibly special.
And if you’re still looking for summer plans, we would absolutely love to see some familiar Lola faces at Summer Camp this year.
